Deharguda village comes under Mainpur block of Raipur District, Chhattisgarh. 90% of people in this village are living in below poverty line. Agriculture, daily labour and NTFP collection are main occupation in this village.
PRERAK organization started its intervention in this village for the development of agriculture. In the project area PRERAK organized training program on SRI Technology of paddy cultivation. Being influenced by this Maa Kalika Self Help Group from Deharguda village showed their interest for cultivation.
PRERAK provided technical support to them. One acre of land was taken as lease and for experimentation paddy was cultivated using both traditional and SRI Technology in half and half acre as follows:
This organization was established in the year 1989 by the community experienced, intellectual personnel and volunteers of the Gariaband block of Raipur district
