Lift Irrigation Program

PRERAK is implementing ‘sustainable livelihood for tribal farmers’ in the village Ganjaipuri, block- Gariaband, Dist- Raipur (C.G.). In the project area the organization is conducting various programmes and activities such as trainings and exposure for farmers to adopt advanced agricultural techniques and various income generation programs. Farmers are benefited by this programs.

Under the program one of the farmers named Mr. Komal Singh Dhruw from Ganjaipuri village is cultivating vegetables (Onion, lady finger, tomatoes, beans etc.) in his backyard land. Mr. Komal Singh Dhruw says, “ Due to want of water in summer my backyard land was being left without producing any crop. But this year I am farming vegetables in that land.

According to PRERAK’s direction and suggestion I am preparing bio-chemicals and pesticide (Handi dawa) and using to prevent various seasonal crop diseases. Previously I was using chemicals procured from market but now I am using my hand made bio-chemical and getting benefits. I make this pesticide at my home and store it. At the proper time this pesticide is used as per requirements and I need not to buy any pesticide from the market.

The method of making this bio-chemicals is very easy and I am benefited by this. As compared with the cost effective chemicals in the market we can easily prepare bio-chemical at our home at very low cost and it is risk less to use in the land. Now farmers are coming to my home to collect this pesticide. Also I share with them on the making process and its benefits.”
